Biographical Sketches, Current and Pending (Other) Support, Collaborators and Other Affliations (COA) and Synergistic Activities
NSF requires four documents when submitting a proposal: Biographical Sketch(es), Current and Pending (Other) Support forms, Collaborators and Other Affiliations (COA), and Synergistic Activities for each individual identified as senior/key personnel. See PAPPG Chapter II.D.2.h(i) for complete coverage on the content and formatting requirements for the biographical sketch. Biographical Sketches and Current and Pending Support forms must be submitted using SciENcv: Science Experts Network Curriculum Vitae. Collaborators & Other Affiliations (COA) Information is submitted using the instructions and spreadsheet template. Synergistic Activities are submitted as a PDF document of up to one-page that includes a list of up to five distinct examples that demonstrate the broader impact of the individual’s professional and scholarly activities that focus on the integration and transfer of knowledge as well as its creation is required.
SciENcv is an electronic system that researchers can use to create and maintain Biosketches. The system pulls information from other systems, including MyNCBI, ORCID, and eRA Commons allowing researchers to quickly create and recreate a Biosketch for each grant application or annual report.
